About ChairSmarts
ChairSmarts is an independent website that helps people find the right wheelchair parts and keep their chairs in good working order.
Our mission
A wheelchair is only as good as its parts. When a caster wobbles, a tire wears out, or a cushion cover tears, the hardest part is often figuring out exactly what to order. Our goal is simple: plain-language help so you can get the right part the first time.
How we pick products
- Fit comes first. We explain what has to match (sizes, measurements, and connection types) so you can check a part against your own chair.
- Review quality matters. We look at ratings and what real buyers say, and we favor products with a steady track record over ones with only a few reviews.
- Commission does not decide what we recommend. Retailers may pay different rates, but that doesn't change which product we think fits best.
- We recheck picks regularly. We plan to review our recommendations about once a month, and we update a page when a better option shows up or a product's reviews change.
Facts and sources
When we share a number, a study, or a safety fact, we link to the original source. If we can't find a reliable source, we won't state it as fact. If you spot a mistake, please tell us. We'll check the source and correct the page if we got it wrong.
Independence
ChairSmarts is not owned by, or affiliated with, any wheelchair manufacturer. Brand names on this site are used only to describe which parts fit which chairs, and they belong to their owners. We earn money through retailer affiliate programs, which we explain on our affiliate disclosure page.
Not medical advice
ChairSmarts shares general information about wheelchair parts and maintenance. We are not doctors, therapists, or wheelchair technicians. For anything involving seating and positioning, pressure sores, skin care, or a change in your health, please talk with your doctor, therapist, or wheelchair provider. If your chair is under warranty or was supplied through insurance, check with your provider before replacing parts yourself.
